Prolonged monsoon, climatic change bite Alphonso mangoes

Past year’s extended monsoon and other climatic modifications in Maharashtra have influenced the Alphonso mangoes in the Konkan belt. The flowering and fruit placing has been delayed, primary to pretty much 50-60 per cent dip in generation.

Alphonso mangoes normally strike important marketplaces by early February, but this year’s period is delayed by pretty much 60 days. Normal shipping and delivery of Alphonso mangoes are envisioned to resume only by March-finish.
