Trump Administration Remains Hopeful on China Trade Pact Despite Coronavirus

WASHINGTON—A senior U.S. trade formal expressed self confidence Wednesday that Beijing will fulfill its obligations less than the trade deal with Washington, in spite of fallout from the coronavirus pandemic and doubts by industry experts about China’s means to fulfill buy targets.

“There have been specific troubles introduced by the coronavirus, but total the practical experience that we’ve had is that the Chinese are pretty, pretty dedicated to employing their commitments,” the senior formal stated through a briefing with reporters.
