SHANGHAI— China released its to start with mission to Mars on Thursday, aiming to join the brief checklist of nations that have landed a spacecraft on one more world.

The Tianwen-one blasted off from the Wenchang Space Launch Centre on the island of Hainan at twelve:forty p.m. area time aboard the freshly developed Long March 5 rocket.
